Gaslamp’s largest one-day festival decorates San Diego’s historic district in purple, green and gold for visitors celebrating the year’s most animated festival on Tuesday, February 5th, 2008. More than 40,000 people will bring out their feathered boas, crazy hats and colorful beads and dress in a Mardi Gras costume to capture attention during the highlight of this event – The Masquerade Parade! Located in the Gaslamp Quarter, The Miller Lite ShamROCK 2008 presented by Jameson Irish Whiskey and The Field is on Monday March 17th, 2008 from 4:00 pm to midnight. This is the biggest and greenest party outside of Dublin with headliner The Young Dubliners! The Gaslamp Quarter will be transformed into the lavish fields of Ireland, as we feature everything from traditional Irish bands and dancing to Irish Punk Rock as well as some of today’s biggest hits by some of San Diego’s hottest live bands thrown in for good measure. The Easter Bonnet Parade will provide information, entertainment, education, and food for both children and adults on Saturday, March 22nd, 2008. Activities include a Hatmaking Workshop, a Hat Contest, a “Sidewalk Stroll” parade and an Easter egg hunt for children ages 2-12.

The San Marcos Grand Spring and Summer Festivals, family traditions on the last Sunday of every August and the first Sunday in April, bring delightful sights, sounds and smells to a large crowd and over 300 wonderfully unique vendors. The American Muscle Classic Car and Show, the largest in San Diego County, includes some 200 classic cars and hot rods. Expect high-energy from three entertainment stages, one of which complements the car show. The Festival's Beer Garden not only includes local microbreweries, but also wonderful food fare from the many restaurants of Old California Restaurant Row. A huge children's area features rides for children of all ages. The Festival route is dotted with a wide variety of delicious international food vendors.

The Sunday April 20th 2008 street fair is expected to attract over 15,000 people and 200-plus vendors to Midland Road between Poway Road and Hilleary Place. Bring your gift list. There's something for everyone at the fair, with an emphasis on arts and crafts. Booths offer birdhouses, pottery, candles, quilts, pillows, handcrafted jewelry, African Art, and numerous local business services.
Kids Activities
The Kids Zone includes live pony and llama rides, a rock-climbing wall, an interactive building block activity area, laser tag, and amusement rides. The street fair features live entertainment - something for everyone of all musical tastes.

About the 2008 Roots & Folk Festival:
The Adams Avenue Business Association proudly presents the 35th Annual Adams Avenue Roots & Folk Festival to be held Saturday and Sunday, May 3 & May 4th 2008. Over 40,000 visitors attended this FREE two-day festival last year. This is truly an event that provides both enjoyment and cultural enrichment for the whole family.
Adams Avenue Roots & Folk Festival is a FREE two-day extravaganza which focuses on the promotion, preservation and performance of local and nationally touring musical acts.
The genres highlighted include the rich traditions of music styles such as Folk, Old Time String Bands, Cowboy, Cajun, Rockabilly, Roots-blues, Bluegrass, Celtic, Roots Rock, Honky-tonk, etc.
